Built for WCAG 2.1 Level AA

Our commitment

Centerville-Washington Park District is committed to providing a website that is usable by people with disabilities. This prototype was designed and tested against WCAG 2.1 Level AA, including automated checks with axe-core and manual keyboard review.

• Keyboard access

  All primary navigation, search, filters, and forms can be reached and operated with a keyboard. A visible focus indicator marks the active control.

• Skip link

  A “Skip to content” link appears on focus so keyboard users can bypass the header and go straight to the main landmark.

• Text alternatives

  Informative images include alternative text. Decorative images are marked so assistive technology can ignore them.

• Structure & labels

  Pages use landmarks, labeled controls, and meaningful link text so screen reader users can navigate by region and heading.

• Motion

  Decorative motion respects prefers-reduced-motion and is turned off when that system setting is enabled.

• Language

  The site language is set to English. A Google Translate control in the footer offers dozens of languages for machine translation.

Known limitations

Third-party embeds (RecDesk registration and Google Translate) are provided by external vendors. Their accessibility may vary and is outside full District control. Where possible we add clear open-in-new labels, transcripts alternatives are noted on program pages, and a native language control wraps Google Translate.
